Tranna Hill enjoys an enviable rural location on the fringe of the village of Newbiggin-on-Lune in Cumbria. We are literally at the foot of the Howgill fells. Many of our guests enjoy an overnight stay while on the popular Coast-to-Coast walk or on the Dales High Way. Others break their journey on their way to Scotland. We have been welcoming guests to Tranna Hill for the past 20 years and our aim is to ensure that you have an enjoyable and relaxing stay with us.
While we enjoy an idyllic rural location at the foot of the fells we are only 5 miles from the M6 (J38) and therefore very easy to locate. Our location between the Lake District and Yorkshire dales national parks makes Tranna Hill a superb base from which to explore both the Lakes and Dales.
The settle to Carlisle railway is only a 5 minute drive away. Alternatively there are amenities on our door step that can be enjoyed without using your car. These include Smardale Gill Nature reserve, the Howgills Fells, fishing, golfing and cycling.
